The Rev. Will Bouvel – Associate Rector

Originally from the Philadelphia area, Will first came to Chicago to attend the University of Chicago where he received a degree in Geography in 2004. Following a wide range of career experiences as a computer programmer, then a professional singer, Will began discernment for the priesthood while living in London. After returning to Chicago and completing his Masters of Divinity studies at the University of Chicago and Bexley-Seabury Seminary, Will was ordained to the priesthood in June of 2022.

Will’s time at St. Chrys began long before ordination with several years singing in the choir and then working as Director of Children’s Ministries. He loves exploring creative expressions of faith, fellowship, and learning. In addition to leading worship and the sacraments, he gets to support some of the amazing ministries at St. Chrys, specifically the Young Professionals, Children’s Formation, Outreach, and Becoming Beloved Community. He is active in the church’s Dismantling Racism work through a program developed with St. Chrysostom’s families called Tell Me the Truth About Racism, created for children as young as 5 years old. Will frequently presents about this program around the country. Supporting him in all aspects of his ministry is his husband Fred, daughter Reese, and cats Scout and Slink.
