Sophie is a first-year Master of Divinity student at the University of Chicago and a lifelong Episcopalian, originally from Johnson City, Tennessee. She will be working to facilitate our children’s ministries and newly forming Youth Group, and she will be offering Confirmation classes for teens ready to make a commitment to their Christian Faith. She’ll also be contributing to our Sunday liturgy and preaching occasionally. Sophie graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2019 with a bachelors in journalism, and prior to moving to Chicago, she worked in Westchester County, New York for two years covering K-12 education for a local newspaper. Now, she lives in Hyde Park with two close friends, studying the New Testament and hoping to pursue ordination in the Episcopal Church. In her spare time, she enjoys cross stitching, horror movies, and being among friends.
