FUND-A-SUNDAY: PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SUMMER CHORAL MUSIC
You’re invited to support our choral music this Summer. Your gift of $420 funds one Sunday’s quartet of singers, keeping our services vibrant with anthems, solos, and service music. Summer choral music is not included in our annual budget but is supported by the generosity of parishioners and friends.
We invite you to contribute online at https://onrealm.org/SaintC/give/summermusic. You may also put a check in the offering plate or send it to the parish office.

ST. CHRYS’S CLOSET NEEDS YOUR HELP THIS TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY
Extra hands are needed this coming Tuesday night, June 20th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, and Wednesday morning, June 21st, 7:30- 9:30 am, as St. Chrys’s Closet (our clothing "shop" that serves asylum seekers) reorganizes and re-merchandizes clothing and household items in our newly-expanded “retail” space in the gym. Helpers are needed for sorting, stacking, and refolding or hanging clothes, and rearranging household items and children’s toys, stuffies, games, and books. We’d be so grateful if you could pitch in this coming week for the big move. Contact Liz Kohlbeck to get involved: [email protected]
NEW GROUP FORMING FOR THOSE DEALING WITH GRIEF
St. Chrysostom’s will be offering a new Grief Support Circle that provides a deep level of care for the grieving person who is interested in dealing with the emotions of life stresses following the death of a loved one. Our goal will be to support and pray for one other as we move forward through the loneliness and isolation of grief. We will meet at 9:00 AM the 4th Sunday of each month beginning June 25th. Please contact Mike Sammon ([email protected]) or Lynn Belding ([email protected]).
BEACH SUNDAYS RETURN THIS SUMMER
This fun summer tradition is back! Come to church in your bathing suit on these Sundays: June 25th, July 30th, *August 13th *and then march over to the North Avenue Beach around 11:30 to play and relax together at this most beautiful spot. We'll be there until about 1:00. Bring your favorite beach toys and snacks to share. See you at the beach!
SEARCH COMMITTEE UPDATE   In the last two months, your Search Committee has analyzed responses to the congregation-wide survey that was held open in November and December.  Materials from the various small groups of parishioners held in December and January have been compiled. These sources have been the basis for a renewed Parish Profile, just now completed and approved by the Wardens. We have also drafted a document for the Office of Transitional Ministry (OTM), the official job posting to be seen only by eligible candidates.  These draft materials will be sent to the Chicago Diocese for review immediately after Easter.  We hope for a prompt response so that the position of Rector of St. Chrysostom’s, Chicago can be nationally posted with the OTM.  Once it is “live” the position will remain open for 60 days. Shortly thereafter, we hope that the Search Committee will begin to review submissions. We appreciate all the input that so many of you have provided and welcome any questions – you may reach out to us at [email protected] any time!  - Judith Stockdale & Geoff Euston, co-chairs
130th ANNIVERSARY SPONSORSHIPS   Thank you for the support of our 130th Anniversary auction! It was a wonderful evening of fellowship and celebration of the St. Chrysostom’s community. There are still sponsorship opportunities available online to support the ministries of the Church. You can view them by visiting https://StC130.givesmart.com. Thank you for your support and generosity!

STEWARDSHIP 2023   The 100% Campaign rolls on!  If you haven't already, we hope you will make your pledge today at https://onrealm.org/SaintC/-/form/pledge/23pledge, or by simply emailing our Director of Operations, Tim Crum, at [email protected]. We will be putting the names of all who make a 2023 pledge on the church website here: https://saintc.org/giving/.

There is no wrong way to come up with an annual pledge amount. The Episcopal Church encourages people to “strive to tithe,” which means identifying a percentage of your household income to give to the work of God through your church, working incrementally year to year toward the Biblical standard of ten percent. Helpful questions to ask yourself include, “What is my annual gift as a percentage of my income—and does this reflect my gratitude for God’s generosity in my life?”; “Do I feel good about my annual gift?”; and “Does my annual gift reflect the importance of St. Chrysostom’s for my life?”

To those who have already made your pledge for 2023, thank you!

NEW OUTREACH INITIATIVE: ST. CHRYS’ CLOSET!   Many of our parishioners and friends have likely already noticed our newest outreach ministry, which we’re calling St. Chrys’ Closet. In response to the refugee crisis that Chicago and other areas of our country are currently experiencing, the mission of St. Chrys’s Closet is to solicit and accept donations of needed supplies from our parish and the wider community, and put those items directly into the hands of the people who need them the most, via the storefront shopping experience that has been set up on our second floor. Response to this initiative from the refugee community has been overwhelming, which only serves to underscore the tremendous need that continues to exist.

Your support thus far has been outstanding, and we’re so grateful that your generous donations have allowed us to assist so many who have nowhere else to turn for help. If you’re still looking for ways to help, the following items would be especially appreciated!
Strollers                                                   Luggage (preferably wheeled)
Car seats                                                 Children’s clothing (ages 4-12)
Diapers/wipes                                          Athletic shoes
Plastic storage bins                                 Bedding/towels
