Neighbors in Need Dinners

CLOTHING DONATION: Deacon Larry asks you to donate gently used women’s and men’s clothing for our friends who come to Neighbors in Need. Larry especially needs women’s clothing that can be worn in any season as the ladies asked me at our June dinner, “Deacon - where are some clothes for women?” Deacon Larry will be at St. Chrysostom’s on Saturday July 2nd, 9th, and 16th from 9am to 12pm to collect clothing in person. On these dates, he will have a letter that you can use for tax purposes. You may also bring clothing to Larry at the church on any Sunday or to the parish offices on weekdays between 9am and 3pm. If it would be easier, please buy a TJ Maxx, Target, Filene’s Basement or Sears gift card and Larry will shop for clothing (especially the larger sizes).

Now in its fourth year, Neighbors in Need is a flourishing in-house outreach that provides a warm, delicious meal to people in our neighborhood who are less fortunate.   The success of our program can be attributed to the efforts of our parishioners who donate their time and money so generously.

There are numerous volunteer tasks available for those who desire to help in this ministry. After the steering committee meets to plan the monthly menu, there is shopping to be done, cooking, greeting the guests, serving the food, and clean-up afterward.
